Wire Ribbon Angels

How to make a wire ribbon angel.

I learned how to make these from a Pinterest video, and I added my own touches.  These were very popular in the craft shows I did, and I plan on giving a lot away with Christmas presents.

Supplies:

This on was my favorite- with a jingle bell head
and bow embellishment.
2-3 in wide wire ribbon (You can do this with other materials too, like burlap or paper, but let’s first stick with the wire ribbon!)

Stapler (make sure it’s full of staples!)

Glue gun and glue sticks

Jingle bell, wooden ball or small ornament ball for head

String for hanging

Gold or silver cord for halo (no more than an inch and a half)

Front embellishment-A bow, a small heart or star or jewel.  (To hide where the pieces are glued together)

The head for this one was a little craft
embellishment ball.

Instructions:

1)    Start fan-folding the ribbon with folds about an inch wide. (eyeball it!)  You will need to make SEVEN complete folds.  Cut your ribbon so that the ends are both facing the back.

2)    Staple the top of the ribbon so that it makes a fan shape.  You may need to use several staples. This makes the body. Set piece aside.

3)    Fan-fold another piece of ribbon, but only FIVE complete folds.

4)    Fold this piece to find the middle between to the wired ends, and staple in the middle.  This makes the wings.

5)    Glue wing piece on top of the body piece.

6)    Get the hanging string and head ready.  Put hot glue on the top of the wings where the head will go.  First, put the two ends of the string on the glue.  Add more glue, if needed, then add the head.

7)    Cut just enough halo cord to make a small circle on the top of the head.  Make one small dot of glue to attach the cord to make a circle with.  This makes the halo pop up above the head. You do not need to put glue all around the head.

8)    Glue front embellishment on as desired. (If you don’t have a particular embellishment, you can use some ribbon wrapped around to hide where the pieces are glued together.

These are some I made with leftover burlap
from a wreath project. Same concept,
you'll just need bigger heads and embellishments
of your ribbon or burlap is wider. I used
wooden balls for the heads, and drew on
little faces.
